Shape bicycles is located at the end of the world (meaning of the Finistère state name), as a result we often have several hours of driving to go to every jam organized by our friends. Fortunately, some people dig close to Caen, Normandy, so only 3 hours from Brest where we live, almost our neighbours in fact.
Bruno and I took the road after work on Friday 05/10/19, to Normandy, its Saint Michel mount and especially its Gro trail ! When we arrived, the trail had been riding all day, we recognized several known faces (JB from Anglet, JB from Bordeaux, Irwin and his dog Billy, Marco, Marc from Banos, Antoine and his pony...etc.). We noticed that the trail evolved in the past years; there is beautiful common start, the small line and the hip one have a common end with the "Shark thin", while the big line is being finalized on its end.
After a chilled evening, with a small crew, Saturday, we started the day with a session before lunch, on the small line with the main local, Gilian. We had a second session in the afternoon, this time on the hip line, with more people but still no crowd. Weather was hot and sunny, hydration required, after a late lunch, some displays were installed: Banos distro, Down for life, official merch from Gro trail and Trailife. Then we had our last session, still no crowd, so no queue at the start, very pleasant. This time we rode mainly on the hip line and the big one where a dozen of riders, including our Shape rider Bruno ! This last session was really enjoyable, we rode beautiful jumps, which look big but are truly safe as they said, we really had fun. Saturday night, is obviously THE party of the jam, laughing and remembering the good feeling of all the day long.
Sunday morning, waking up more or less difficult for some. We decided to take the road at midday, thanks to Gilian and the locals, a beautiful trail which is dug by passion people and give ideas to all of us.
