Another Shape bicycles DIY sprocket has been machined, this time it's a 25T, still in spline drive. This one is intended for our Southern rider, Bérenger Cordier, who is about to built up a new BMX.
Our goal is to machine the three main models of our sprocket range (25, 28, 30T) in order to validate our manufacturing process and especially optimize it (time, tools, cost...etc.).
The next sprocket planned in machining is a 30T, for our American rider Jared Ball.

We haven't given you some new about our rider from Toulouse Jems Muller for a while. After finishing his studies, Jems can think about trail again.
After the beautiful jam last September, Jems and his friends, including several new motivated members, undertook a big job this winter. They are completely rethinking their famous section "Donut", unchanged since 2006, with its U shape composed of 5 jumps and its famous 180° vertical berm.
Their plan is to make a section in the shape of an open "8" while keeping the current berm and changing the end. They want a fun section, with different heights, everything should be ready for testing in late spring, before you can find some photos below.

We are happy to present to you the final result of our first in house fabrication.
This 28T sprocket is a 19mm spline version (with a Profile racing Sabre insert), with a black anodizing touch.
We are satisfied with this sprocket even if there are few details to improve, please note that it is a prototype with non-definitive design.
This sprocket will be quickly assembled on the bike of our local rider Bruno, he will have the honor to ride this true prototype !

One month has passed from the previous news, here we are with our first Shape bicycles DIY sprocket.
With the precious help of LG Tech, which has provided us with a CNC milling machine, we machined our first 28T sprocket with 19mm spline insert, as well as some new features.
What a pleasure to be able to draw and program the machining by ourselves, especially to attend the manufacture of the product in live ! We still have things to learn but this first test is a success !

We have been quiet in early 2017, as we are relatively busy with several major changes.
First of all, we changed our CAD software, making the move from Solidworks to Fusion 360, the latest opening the door of CAM.
We are progressively redesigning some of our current products on this new software, while continuing to develop new ones, like sprockets...
The new possibilites offer in term of manufacturing (CAM), push us to program the machining of our prototypes (in fact we will still order bigger batch to our current supplier), also with the help of a friend of us, owner of a local machining company - LG Tech.
We are happy to build this autonomy in the early stages of design / prototype of our products !

We wanted to improve our famous product, our sprocket for a while.
So we changed the design and more importantly we added more machining area. As a result, each shape between branches has two different levels, giving a better and more sophisticated look.
We have just received a first batch of these new sprockets, available in 19 or 22mm or spline 19mm; at 57,50€ (69,90€ in spline).

Our friend of the Pumpy trail in Bristol, have just dropped a video of this year of riding, featuring the famous PJ, the funny Boyd, Josh and others friends from UK; as well as our French friend from Toulouse Pompom, who lives in Bristol.
Most of the video is filmed at their trail and at the Birch Woods; a second part is dedicated to their road trip in France in September, the Brexit tour!

After our trail trip in UK this summer, Bruno and I are still very attracted by the Villij trail.
In fact, we stayed there several times, mainyl we shared very good moments with the locals (Robbo, Frog...), on the bike, around the fire or maintening the jumps.
A part of the Mutiny team (Matt Roe, Dylan Lewis) came to visit Robbo (Mutiny rider too) to discover his beautiful trail.
